- Technical Director

My history with CVDAA goes all the way back to when I was 12 years old. What started as a way to have two hours after school on Thursday and Friday with the boy I had a crush on soon became something that went way beyond middle school crushes. In CVDAA, I found a safe place to express and learn in the rocky, trying times that are middle school. From sixth to eighth grade I not only performed in but wrote for countless shows including Flash Mob, Small Things, June, TTYL, and Happily Never After.

While I loved acting, when I entered high school. I found myself enjoying technical work more and more. I started working backstage in every show I wasn’t acting onstage in- first moving set, then running lights, and eventually stage managing. Technical work became my passion. And the training I have received through CVDAA is more than I would have ever expected. The skills I have learned at CVDAA I have been able to take with me all over the Bay Area. On top of CVDAA, I have been lucky enough to work with companies including San Francisco Shakespeare, Pleasanton Drama Camps, Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre, and the Castro Valley Center for the Arts.

It makes me feel so old to write this.

Love, hugs, and Bruce Springsteen,

CVDAA exists to encourage artistic theatrical expression by young people. With that in mind, we have sponsored many student directed and produced pieces. We . . .
